6 Panel Cup
For industries and individuals that require testing beyond the standard 5 panel urine drug test, the 6 panel drug test is a low cost drug testing solution that can be performed easily and quickly in the clinic, workplace, or home. The operator simply collects the sample from the donor, seals the lid, and conveniently reads the results from the privacy of where the test is taken.
12 Panel Medical ensures the strictest standards in conforming to SAMHSA guidelines for drug testing cut-off levels. CLIA waived and approved by the FDA for Point of Care urinalysis, urine drug tests using immunoassay technology are 99% accurate and significantly reduce the chance of a false negative or positive. The urine testing cups are durable and reliable enough to be sent to a laboratory in the case that further analysis is required.
6 panel rapid results drug tests give you qualitative and definitive results in as little as five minutes and are available in two configurations: one that includes a panel for oxycodone and the other that tests for barbiturates. For extra security measures, the 6 panel drug test cup is also equipped with adulterants and the potential for custom configurations.
The standard 5 panel urine drug test was developed in the 1980s with the implementation of the Drug-Free Workplace Act. The SAMHSA-5 panel test traditionally tests for amphetamines, marijuana (tetrahydrocannabinol), cocaine metabolites, opiates (including heroin, morphine, and codeine), and phencyclidine (PCP).
Over the last decade, the drug testing needs of some industries, organizations, and government bodies have grown, as have the types of drugs more commonly abused. The 6 panel drug test expands on the SAMHSA-5 to test for additional drugs. 12 Panel Medical has also updated the multi drug screen tests to reflect changing drug abuse trends. The following drugs will show up on a 6 panel drug test:
- Oxycodone or Barbiturates
Designed to be an effective but rapid results drug test, 6 panel drug test cups are manufactured to the strictest industry standards, intended for use in professional medical settings, laboratories, and rehabilitation facilities. Delivering results within 1% accuracy, 12 Panel Medical urine drug tests are reliable enough for testing in safety-sensitive workplaces, such as law enforcement and public transportation workers. With ergonomic technology that reduces mess and easy to read results, performing an at home 6 panel drug test is convenient and private.
SAMHSA is responsible for setting the Mandatory Guidelines for Workplace Drug Testing Programs for employees that are federally regulated. SAMHSA guidelines are the industry-standard for immunoassay multi drug screen tests. 12 Panel Medical uses the cut-off concentrations as defined by SAMHSA in compliance with these standards.
The cutoff concentrations that determine whether positive or negative results show up on a 6 panel drug test are expressed as nanograms per milliliter (ng/ml) and are set as follows:
- Amphetamines 1000 ng/ml
- Benzodiazepines 300 ng/ml
- Buprenorphine 10 ng/ml
- Cocaine 300 ng/ml
- Opiates 2000 ng/ml
- Morphine 300 ng/ml
- Oxycodone 100 ng/ml
- Barbiturates 300 ng/ml
Technological capable of detecting even the smallest concentrations, 6 panel multi drug screen tests can be configured according to the needs of the industry or individual. Whether utilizing the SAMHSA standards as a guide or setting your own, 12 Panel Medical urine drug tests can be trusted to detect drugs and metabolites within 99% accuracy.
Do not remove the 6 panel drug test from the protective packaging until you are ready to collect the sample. When ready, remove the urine drug test cup and open the seal.
Donors should sign and date the test cup before providing the specimen. For accurate results, the donor must provide at least 15 ml of urine. If the test must be sent to a laboratory for further examination, the laboratory will need 30 ml of urine.
After the specimen has been collected from the donor by the operator, the cap should be securely screwed on and sealed. The peel off label can be removed at the same time. A timer should be set to ensure that the results are checked after no more than five minutes. If the specimen is left sitting for more than eight minutes, the results can no longer be interpreted.
If testing cups are stored in a refrigerator, they must be brought to room temperature before testing can take place. Operators should also check the temperature control on the cup two to four minutes after collection to ensure that the green indicator is between 90 and 100 degrees F. Testing cups should never be frozen, as this can affect the testing strips and reduce the accuracy of the results.
Operators should take utmost care when testing with 6 panel drug test cups, as human urine can be infectious and requires proper handling and disposal. Improper handling can also affect the integrity of the results. If there is any evidence of contamination on the test cup or if the expiry date has passed, discard of the product.
The 6 panel drug test possesses a results indicator for easily reading the results of the test. Check the results indicator five minutes after the specimen has been collected to determine whether the test is positive or negative.
If no colored band forms in the result area of the testing cup, the sample contains one or a combination of the drugs and metabolites tested for. Positive results should be sent to a toxicology laboratory for confirmation.
If a colored band forms in the result area of the testing cup, then the sample is below the cutoff concentration for the drugs and metabolites tested for.
