How to Use the Drink Spike Pen from Ovus Medical
✅ Take the device out of the extraction tube and remove the protector.
✅ Pour the beverage into the protector or into a clean container. Liquid must be at room temperature prior to testing.
✅ Insert the sample tip into the sample and hold for 2 seconds.
✅ Remove the test pen and insert it into the extraction tube until it has reached the middle of the supporting ring.
✅ Read results at 3 minutes. Do not read the results after 10 minutes.
✅ To confirm positive results, send the sample to a toxicology lab for confirmation.
How To Interpret Results for KET & BZO:
Positive
Only one colored band appears in the control region (C).
No apparent colored band appears in the test region (T)
Negative
Two colored bands appear on the membrane.
One band appears in the control regions (C), and another in the test region (T).
Invalid
Any result without a control band at the specified read time must be disregarded.
Retest the procedure. If the problem persists, discontinue using the kit and contact your local distributor.
